What a varied programme of events we’ve had this term. We had a visit from Tara of TSAVocal who took us on an Abba adventure, teaching us some Abba songs, which I know our members loved. There was also our 7th birthday to celebrate, none of us would have thought 7 years ago we’d still be here, and look how much we’ve achieved. After a brief break over the Summer Holidays we were back into some previously performed songs to remind ourselves we do know what we are doing really 😊. Our AGM was much later than usual in October and that gave us all time to settle back into the choir and avoid too many of us being on our summer hols. Well we’ve packed in an awful lot in this term, I know I seem to say that a lot, but it definitely is true this term. We kicked off with a social evening, which are always good fun and it’s nice to mix with some of the choir members you don’t usually get to speak to. We started off this term with our AGM and the following week we invited our charities of the year to receive their fundraising cheques. After all our hard work of the previous twelve months it was great to invite STEPS and the Shepshed Toy Library to receive cheques for £1500 each. We were without our wonderful accompanist Ness for a few weeks in the Spring term, and with the Easter holidays and bank holidays, the pressure was on to get us into shape for our Summer Concert. It’s been a busy half year, with our ‘Bring the lads night’, when we persuaded the men in our lives to join us singing for the evening. We really enjoy our nursing home tours and so were thrilled to be able to revisit the lovely ladies and gents in Shepshed, it really sets us in the Christmas mood.
