Spring/Summer 2016

Serenade June 2016-01We welcomed back our lovely friend Nicole Jordan to the Musical Director position after Tom Stanyard had given us a great couple of years of technical excellence and led us to new heights. We were excited to get started on this years ambitious Summer Concert and really enjoy it. We chose the theme of “Singing Through the Decades” and had pieces from the 1910’s all the way through to the 2010’s. With more and more of us gaining confidence is solo or small groups we could build more of those into our set-list, so it gave us a little more variety to the performances as well as trying a little more memorised songs so we could add some movement. Scary for those of us with two left feet! We performed first at Thorpe Acre Church, a lovely little venue and it was great to be part of their 90th birthday celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen. Then we were ready forĀ our own concert at Shepshed High School. It was a fantastic night with some really great performaces (check out the Past Performances page if you don’t believe me). Since September we have been raising money for The Shepshed Volunteer Centre and all the proceeds from this concert go to supporting initiatives here in Shepshed, which is so rewarding.
